Michelle DeYoung,
Artistic and Executive Director
Michelle DeYoung is a celebrated classical vocalist, with a storied international career spanning three decades. Michelle has performed with the largest opera houses and orchestras around the world, and is recognized worldwide for her distinctive and capable renditions of works by Mahler and Wagner. Her vocal performances have won her three Grammy awards. Michelle is the Artistic and Executive Director of Ensemble Charité, as well as one of its founders. She often conducts performances given by the ensemble while also preparing musical repertoires for each concert.
Board of Directors
Yumi Hwang-Williams has been the Concertmaster of the Colorado Symphony (Denver) since 2000. She has performed extensively in solo, chamber music, recital concerts throughout the region, US, and abroad and is dedicated to sharing her love of music with her community. Yumi serves as Board Chair for Ensemble Charité.
Raquel Jimenez-Sola is a project manager, musicologist and piano teacher in Spain, her native country. She is currently working as an agent for two agencies in Spain and Switzerland and is conducting musical research on 19th century Spanish music.
Andrew is currently the Executive Director of the Arts Hub in Lafayette, Colorado. Andrew was also the ED for Boulder Symphony and the Boulder Symphony Music Academy and is the founding member of the award-winning Altius Quartet and the Executive Director of the Western Slope Concert Series.
Dr. Stephanie Mientka maintains an eclectic career in music as a violist, educator, and concert presenter. She is a member of the Boulder Philharmonic, Colorado Ballet Orchestra, is a regular substitute with Colorado Symphony, and is the Artistic Director of the Western Slope Concert Series.
Sophia Stout is the Website Manager and Email Campaign Manager for Ensemble Charité. A graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder, with a major in Jazz Studies major, Sophia creates music under the duo name Soph and Austin and works as the Office Manager at the Arts Hub in Lafayette, Colorado.
Erika Meyer is a composer and vocalist. She graduated with dual degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Theory from the University of Washington and pursued graduate studies in Composition at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts. In 2021, she was selected as a Seattle Opera Jane Lang Davis Creation Lab composer. She was a 2024 BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship Finalist and a Top 10 Finalist in the 2025 International Oticons Faculty Competition. Now based in Los Angeles, she is actively composing for film and media.
Brenda Dykstra is a previous HR Exec for corporations in technology and automotive as well as a private practice therapist. Brenda is the Marketing Director for Ensemble Charité.
Kimberly Henry is a Colorado native and seasoned real estate professional with over 20 years of experience across Colorado's Front Range. She has held key roles in nonprofit and board leadership, helping strengthen organizations through financial stewardship and thoughtful long-term vision. A lifelong admirer of classical music, Kim is honored to support Ensemble Charité’s mission to support other charitable organizations through world-class concerts.
